Take Action Now!

The 2008 primaries are just around the corner (May 6!), and Planned Parenthood Advocates PAC is already focusing on what we can do to help Get Out The Vote in May and for the November general elections (check out our One Million Strong campaign!).

The outcome of this election will determine the future of reproductive health—not only in the state of Indiana, but also the United States of America. Now is the time to fight for birth control, sex education, medical privacy, and safe, legal abortion access.

The state legislature and your local elected officials have greater control over your life than you may realize—some of them are actively working to limit access to contraceptives or to mandate teaching scientifically inaccurate information about sex. (Don't believe us? Check out what happened during the 2008 Indiana General Assembly.)

Check our sister site, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana. Read all about Prevention First and how you can help! There are other ways to help too! Check out ways to volunteer.

On the other hand, other legislators and candidates are already excited about the ideas we're proposing in our Prevention First package: common sense ideas to help reduce unintended pregnancies and increase privacy and public health. We need these legislators and candidates to make this legislation a reality, and we need YOU to help elect pro-Prevention candidates!

Lucky for us, we have the power to vote. You can register now by filling out the voter registration form and getting more information here. Not sure who to vote for? Take a look at Indiana’s state legislative voting records on reproductive issues from the 2008 legislative session and earlier. Need info on federal candidates?
